DIY Fragrant Wax Dipped Pine Cones - Easy To Make!!

These are very easy and fun to make! You just need some everyday items from around the house and of course... Pine cones!

Items you will need...
  • Pine cones
  • Left over candle wax (I save a lot of things "just in case")*
  • A Sauce pan
  • Coffee can or anyting tin you can melt wax in
  • Water
  • Crayons (if you want to add color... I tried blue and purple crayons)

The first thing you want to do is fill the sauce pan with water, and put the coffee can filled with the wax to be melted. During this time you should be laying out wax paper on the counter.

After the wax and crayons have melted completely you can remove from stove. I used a pot holder to take the can out of the pot and placed it on another pot holder on top of the wax paper I laid out. You can now start your dipping!
After you dip the cone completely into the wax let it dry, then dip again. You can dip as many times as you want to get whatever look you are trying for. I myself wanted them to be completely saturated with wax... especially as it makes the colors look better
This is after just one dip... (I didn't like the orange so I put blue crayons in!)
This is after at least 10 dips... maybe more as I sort of stopped counting :P On the last dip I decided to add in pearly glitter on the melted wax. I LOVE the way they turned out.

Next... well this part is up to the person making these. I decided to make my pine cones into a decorative hanging piece...perfect for winter! If you are looking to make the same thing you will need the above items.
  • Floral wire
  • Wood branch (I had drift wood from other porjects, but you can use anything type of branch really)
  • A bow
I wrapped the wire around the top of each of the pine cones then attached all the wires together and wrapped them around the branch. If you don't have extra wire you can cut some more and wrap around the top of the branch for a hanger. I added a red bow to contrast the blue color and I think it looks beautiful! It also smells amazing! That is how you do it!
